It may seem impossible to travel log to beautiful tropical destinations on a tight budget. It doesn’t have to be expensive, depending on where and what type of vacation you want. Here are some of my top tropical spots (some that I have visited many times), which I believe are great for all budgets.
Palawan, Philippines
The archipelago Palawan, Philippines’ largest and most biodiverse islands, is home to clear waters, limestone Cliffs, and tons more to explore (including an underground River you shouldn’t miss).
These beaches are among the most beautiful in the world. There is more than 1200 miles of coastline. The diving is top-notch and there are friendly people everywhere.
Palawan has both land and marine nature reserves. It is also a UNESCO-listed heritage site that preserves a lot of the land. Palawan offers a great deal of value for money, offering a variety of hotels and basic resorts that are affordable.

The Riviera Maya, located on the Yucatan Peninsula’s Caribbean coast, is well-known for its stunning beaches, turquoise waters and delicious food. You can explore the Mayan ruins and go snorkeling and scuba diving. Also, you can check out the local culture and towns. Finally, relax on the beach for long lazy days.
Riviera Maya is home to popular spots like Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, Tulum and Cozumel as well as quieter places like Puerto Morelos. The diversity of the Riviera Maya means that there is something for everyone.

Kauai, the fourth-largest Hawaiian Island, is a paradise for nature-lovers with its waterfalls, jaw-dropping coastline and tropical rainforests. You should also bring some snorkel gear!

Belize
Belize, a country located on the east coast of Central America is very friendly. It has beautiful beaches, Mayan history and national parks. You can take a helicopter tour of the Great Blue Hole, or grab your mask and go diving. Also, you can relax on Caye Caulker and kayak along Glover’s Reef Atoll. Lamanai is a Mayan archaeological site.
Belize is a tiny country but it packs a big punch. I recommend that you plan enough time to explore and relax. It is very affordable once you arrive, and flights from the U.S. can be booked at a fraction of the cost.

Thailand is a country that is as ancient as it is modern, as well as as being as beautiful as its natural beauty, as well as its friendly people and delicious cuisine. As in many other places in Southeast Asia, a dollar can go a long ways in Thailand. You could easily spend just a few dollars per night on accommodation.
You can expect a fast-paced, exciting experience in Thailand’s major cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai. You can also choose to visit one of Thailand’s beautiful islands, such as Koh Tao, Koh Lipe or Koh Phangan, for a slower and more natural experience.
